1. Information We Collect

We only collect the essential information required to provide the Ploty remote canvas connection and syncing features. This includes strictly necessary functional cookies for user authentication, connection metadata (such as device type and IP address) necessary for security and real-time pairing, and account details (such as email address) if you register for an account.

2. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your personal data under the following legal bases: (a) Contractual Necessity: to provide you with the Ploty service, maintain your account, and enable device synchronization. (b) Legitimate Interests: for security monitoring, fraud prevention, and improving our application infrastructure.

3. How We Use Information & Third Parties

Your information is solely used to facilitate the real-time syncing of app data between your devices. Our infrastructure ensures secure transportation of drawing strokes and image data. We do not sell or share any of your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. However, to operate the service, we rely on trusted infrastructure providers (such as hosting and database services) who act as Data Processors subject to strict data processing agreements.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use functional cookies specifically necessary for authentication and session management. Since these cookies are essential to provide the service requested, they do not require explicit granular consent under the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies on the core platform.

5. Data Retention & International Transfers

We retain your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the services. When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted from our primary servers. Data may be processed outside the EEA by our cloud providers; in such cases, we ensure adequate safeguards like Standard Contractual Clauses are in place.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase any personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to restrict or object to processing, and the right to data portability. You can trigger deletion of your account and related data through the application at any time, or by contacting us directly. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
